LEST LEADERSHIP LANGUISH

                                     By B. Lee Coyne ATMS

Many of us join Toastmasters to upgrade our status in the outside world - that can include our jobs
and our role as influencers in the community. That means taking on leadership!

Indecision is the enemy. Becoming a conciliatory voice is the real goal.

How do we wisely go forward choosing strong and dynamic leaders? Let’s look to our recent past as
           clues to the future.

Toastmaster of the Day involves finite plans for meeting structure. Topics master duties entail select-
ing a theme and individual questions to propose. Both roles suggest the capacity to plan and imple-
           ment.

Which speechmaker has mastered the art of motivation effectively? The answer can point to motivat-
ing club members on a larger scale.

Fondly look to newcomers whose sheer enthusiasm nearly boils over. Invite them to apply their fervor
as a club officer. That is how I began the climb up the ladder to become club president in both Virgin-
           ia and Oregon.

Spring has arrived. Test your wings now and soon you too shall SOAR.
