Put a Spring Back in Your Toastmasters Step
Be a Fan or Lend a Hand -
Team Support
Every contest needs an enthusiastic audience and several volun-
teers to ensure a successful event. Becoming a raving fan or helpful
volunteer can give you insight into speech development and event
management. Positions include judges, ballot counters, timers,
Toastmaster, Contest Chair, and Chief Judge. With contests being
held online or in a hybrid format, technical help is often needed
too. When I competed in different contests last year, it was always
reassuring to see how everything was well-organized. I also felt
like I was delivering my speech to a supportive audience. Beyond
the club contests, there are additional opportunities at the District
level for higher leadership positions that can further develop your
management skills.
Whether you want to review your goals, renew an old project, do
guest speaking, or volunteer, there are lots of ways to spruce up
your Toastmasters experience. Further developing your speaking,
leadership, and management skills will benefit both you and the
community as you learn and grow as a Toastmaster.
