Keeping the tonality of the voice uniform: a
calm and quiet voice which, whatever is said,
always maintains the same tone, does not
convey any emotion and makes the speech cold
and detached, while a continuously emotional
and volatile voice confuses instead of attracts,
it makes understanding difficult and tires the
listener who after a while detaches attention.
Keeping the volume of the voice at the same
level is also not a good idea: raising and low-
ering the volume depending on what is being
said, such as for example to underline certain
concepts, helps to understand and captures the
attention of the people who are listening.
Our voice has great power and knowing how to
use it well means being able to communicate
exactly what we mean without being misun-
derstood. And being misunderstood is what we
absolutely don’t want, especially if the speech is
public.
