Scott is an example of what makes Toastmasters an amazing
organization. He has supported the club in every way, and continues to
go the extra mile every step of the way. As videographer, VP of
Education, a wonderful mentor and an outstanding speaker, University
Toastmasters is blessed to have Scott in the club! Scott always steps up
to fill roles when needed. He has given great presentations to teach us
about Toastmaster topics.
Other honored nominees for October were:
Andre Cartee, Roseburg Toastmasters—Andre demonstrated vision & drive in moving the club
forward with a mentoring program. She never hesitates to accomplish any little thing that she
notices should be done.
Dianne Demith, Grants Pass Toastmasters—Every club has some issues periodically that can best
be handled by the officers under the leadership of its president. Our President, Dianne Demith, boldly
led us through some issues this month by simply urging the officers to follow our mission. It was
most important for the club to retain its supportive and positive learning experience, and retain a
membership that is empowered to grow. This led to wise decisions by the officers that will keep us as
a leading club in our city and our Division.
Richard Emmons, RVN Toastmasters—Richard Emmons is the current Vice President of Public
Relations at RVN Toastmasters. He was one of the charter members of our club and served as the first
president. He has also been a mentor to various members. He does an amazing job fulfilling the club
mission. He works diligently to help others achieve their speaking and leadership goals. His emphasis
on creating a positive club environment has helped make new members feel comfortable speaking.
He gives excellent evaluations, drawing attention to the areas that you're strong in and giving you a
few things to work on. In my mind, he's our outstanding member of the month every month!
JoAnna Shaw, Jefferson State Toastmasters—Joanna always arrives thirty minutes before the
meetings start and sets up a video camera to film each meeting. Joanna is current VP of Education for
the Jefferson State Toastmasters Club in Talent Oregon, and has worked in several other offices in
Toastmasters previously. Joanna takes time to support newcomers, providing ideas and advice on
how to make the most of their Toastmaster Experiences. And the Jefferson State
Toastmasters Club benefits from her experience as a long-time member of
Toastmasters.
Nathanial Duarte, Rogue Valley Networking—Nathaniel is a young man beyond his
years. He’s a very mature individual, very intelligent and well rounded. He is
becoming a fine public speaker, often quoting from the Toastmasters Magazine
and manuals to provide us knowledge, inspiration and ideas. He is a
very dedicated Toastmaster and performs all of his duties promptly and
with a high level of quality. It’s difficult to imagine a more exemplary
Toastmaster.
