Points Beyond

“Points Beyond” competition to reward clubs who are performing beyond the 10 Goals of the DCP in any category, regardless of whether or not they meet the overall DCP requirement.

For example:  DCP Goal 9 requires a minimum of 4 officers trained during each training period.  Points Beyond will award points for each officer beyond 4 trained during any training period.

Toastmasters clubs have 10 goals in the Distinguished Club Program.  To be recognized as a Distinguished Club the Club must meet 5 of the 10 goals AND meet the minimum membership requirement.

What happens if your club meets multiple goals, but does not achieve the minimum membership requirement?  What happens if your club is great at completing certain goals?

Well, the Points Beyond competition is designed to reward those clubs who are good at achieving accomplishments beyond the minimum targets in the Distinguished Program Goals.  Your club can now rack up points for those accomplishments and win fabulous prizes!

For each requirement in the Distinguished Club Program, your club will earn points for those beyond the minimum target as follows:

DCP Requirement DCP Target Points Beyond Per
Membership 20 0.5
Base under 17, Net Gain 3 2
Level 1s 4 1
Level 2s 4 2
Level 3s 2 3
Level 4s, 5s or DTMs 2 4
New Members 8 1
Officers Trained (Summer) 4 1
Officers Trained (Winter) 4 2
Membership Dues Ontime 1 3
Officer List on time 1 1

For example, your club has 6 members who complete a Pathways Level 2.  In the DCP, Goal 2 is met with 2 Level 2s.  Goal 3 is met with 2 More Level 2s.  Those first 4 Level 2s meet the target for the DCP, so the additional 2 Level 2s earn 2 points each in Points Beyond giving the club 4 points toward the Points Beyond competition.

At the end of each quarter, September 30, December 31, March 31, and June 30) the scores for clubs will be tallied using data collected from the Toastmasters International Distinguished Performance Reports (http://dashboards.toastmasters.org/Club.aspx?id=07), Club Performance tab.

For the first quarter the top 5 clubs will be awarded, for each of the remaining 3 quarters the top 10 clubs will be awarded.  No club will be awarded more than twice.
