g Ellis—Division D Member of the Month
King Ellis joined Toastmasters in 2010. He is the master
organizer for the ScanEagle Toastmaster club. King created
the meeting planner sheet, which is how the ScanEagle club
members sign up for meeting roles. Every week King tales
the initiative to send out the meeting planner sheet and
sign people up for meeting roles. King is not shy in
prodding people to sign up for a role, and now almost
everyone who attends a meeting has a pre-assigned role, and roles are assigned before
the meeting. King's organization, initiative, gentle prodding has made the meetings run
smoother since we come to the meeting knowing what to do, and who is doing it, and
that our meeting roles are covered.

There’s a balance between seeing and doing – observation and action.
Too little observation and we become automatons. Too little action and
we become passive.
Observation is not passive. It takes an active mind. Being active de-
velops an active mind. An active mind is more observant. Lather.
Rinse. Repeat. (Eric Winger)
