m Allen—Division H Member of the Month

Jim Allen joined Toastmasters in 2009. He is a member
of Wrip City Toastmasters. Jim, our current president
has certainly taken to the podium smoothly since he
assumed the role last year. He has not been shy about
the duties the president needs to fulfill and has been
quite the organizer and cheerleader for the club and its
officers.

He has lead the discussion on what it takes to be a thriving club to peremptorily
combat a decline in membership. He even opened his home, chairing a passing-of-the
-baton for officers complete with Rah-Rah-Go-Team message and Flip Charts,
throwing down the gauntlet for the potluck -- to which we all met the challenge for
FOOD! (and speeches). Over the past year he has offered several speeches on the roles
of officers making transitions easier and desirable for members. He has displayed his
experience by championing the health of the club, sharing impromptu speeches when
needed and reinforcing the value of working through the manuals as the means to
attaining our goals. He was unflustered in presiding over an ad hoc vote for changing
an item of our club's format. He is there for everyone. I would like to recommend Jim
Allen as someone who has exemplified the role of an outstanding member and
president.
