Secretrary & Treasurer Roles

Many clubs Secretary and Treasurer positions are filled by the same person. One of the
chief reasons is some clubs struggle to find enough officers. Three experienced club officers
will share the highs of lows of serving in these vital roles.
In this session you will learn:
• How to be successful in your role
• Lessons learned
• What records do you really need to keep
• Submitting dues on time
About the Presenters
Maria has been a Toastmasters since 2004. She has held all club offices and several at the
district level including Division Governor and Chief Judge. She is currently working as a
Traveling Bookkeeper.
Cleon Cox III has been a Toastmaster for over 21 years. He has held most club officer roles
as well as District roles. He has sponsored more new members into Toastmasters than any
other in the District. He believes it’s important to bring continual new leadership within
our clubs. It’s equally important that they put effort into their leadership role. Cleon has
worked with new clubs as well as established clubs. He has won District Speech Contests
multiple times. He is currently a member of Wallmasters as well as New Horizons and
Feedbackers where he serves as Treasurer.
Jerry has been a member of Toastmasters since 2005. He has held multiple offices at
the club and district levels including several rounds as secretary/treasurer and district
treasurer. He works in accounting at The Old Spaghetti Factory.
