interested in, but on their interests, needs, and challenges.

Dale Carnegie devoted his life to and became an expert in
helping others become more successful in persuading and
influencing other people through the art and science of public
speaking. Here is what he has to say about connecting with an
audience. He states "The three most interesting subjects in the
world are; sex, property, and religion. By the first we create life,
by the second we maintain it, and by the third we hope to
continue it in the world to come.
But realize it is our sex, our property, and our religion that
interests us. Our interests swarm about our own egos." Talk
about your audiences' needs and interests' through using a lot
of "you" pronouns. Yes, you can use stories and anecdotes from
your experiences, but focus the message on what your
audience can learn through these stories. Tell them how they
can overcome challenges and be better in business, become
better parents, more successful spouses and lead happier and
more integrated lives through lessons learned from your
experiences. In other words, focus primarily on the "YOU."
