Toastmaster Leadership Institute (TLI)
January 3 & 4, 2025
Jessup University, Portland
Winter TLI kicked off Friday night January 3rd with two sessions of online
educational classes. The next day at 7 am Saturday the cafeteria of Jessup
University welcomed Toastmasters with a light buffet and beverages. At
8 am master of ceremonies Robert Pugh DTM welcomed both in person
and online audiences. Hybrid activities started with a keynote speech
from Jana Barnhill, DTM. Followed by an inspirationational speech by our
District Director Dr. Gwendolyn Avington DTM. The crowd then broke into
classrooms for trainings and electives. Topics ranged from eliminating
filler words to using Powerpoint. The morning ended with recognition for
member achievements and further updates from our Trio. Our thanks to all
presenters and those behind the scenes that made this an excellent event.
