Empowered by Purpose

As we end the year and stand on the threshold of a new Feedbackers Toastmasters
one, it’s the perfect time to reflect, reset, and envision the
possibilities that lie ahead.
Setting intentions goes beyond traditional resolutions - it’s
about aligning your actions with your values, strengths,
and passions Setting intentions often involves a direction
and a purpose, which is what really matters to us. Purpose
aligns our core values, the why behind our actions. In
Japanese, the word Ikigai describes a reason for being, or a
reason to wake up in the morning.
This post explores the importance of growing purpose for
the new year and provides a practical guide to help you
embark on a journey of purposeful living.
Growing Your Purpose
Purpose is not something you FIND or SEEK, but
something you MAKE and GROW. Purpose is made as
you invest in something and feel connected to it. “Find
something you’re good at,” says NYU Stern Business
professor Scott Galloway, “then spend thousands of hours
applying grit,
perseverance, and sacrifice to become great at it. That will
make you passionate about whatever it is.”
Purpose is like a garden you build and water Purpose
connects your values, strengths, passions, and life
experiences, it’s what really matters to you, the core, the
why behind your actions. Do you know what your purpose
is?
Defining My Purpose
Purpose is the belief that my life matters and that I make a
difference. It is in a sense being guided by my values and
goals. My purpose relates to my value: “to pour out what
God has poured into me.” It is the expression of my talents
of leading with compassion, having empathy towards
others. My reason to wake up in the morning is to express
