For the past sixty-six years, the Blue Ox Toastmasters club has helped over four hundred
federal employees and the public to improve their public speaking skills, learning to conduct
meetings and honing leadership skills. Members both present and past have benefited in their
employment and outside the workplace. Members learn at their own pace using the
Toastmasters International Pathways program.
Joining Toastmasters is a commitment to not only improve your own communications skills,
but also to help other members improve their skills - all in a supportive environment. This
program has worked since 1924! It is proven that the more you practice speaking, the more
proficient in speaking you become. This in turn builds confidence with different types of
communications.
A typical Blue Ox meeting has three components: prepared speeches, table topics and
evaluation. Table Topics allows members to practice impromptu speaking. Evaluations provide
speakers with feedback on where they did well and where they need improvement.
Blue Ox Toastmasters meets on Mondays, except for holidays, from 11:45a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
North Conference Room 110 in the BPA Cafeteria. Feel free to visit any meeting!
